FOURM, pronounced “form,” honors the four generations of farmers and stewards of the land —
Michele, Mitchel, Michael Sr., and Michael Jr.

Michele
Mulas

Michele - The four generations of M began when Michele Mulas immigrated to the U.S. from Sardinia, Italy in 1909. He first settled in Utah with his brothers at age 13 before imigrating to San Francisco. There he worked as a carpenter and simultaneously worked in Petaluma as a milker. San Francisco would later become the city where he met his wife, Mary Viola Segarini. They eventually moved to Sonoma where their sons, Mitchel and Mario, were born.

In 1922, Michele bought his dairy which later became known as the family home ranch. With his two sons, he expanded the herd. Little did he know that his sons would turn it into one of the largest dairies in Northern California.

Mitchel
Mulas

A respected figure in agriculture for more than 65 years. He was known for spending most of his life working from sunrise to sundown.

In those long days, he turned his father’s small ranch into a 1000-head dairy farm that became one of the county’s leading milk producers. He soon found another love in agriculture when he began planting grapes in 1996. He farmed a total of 350 acres of vineyards, and it was said by the executive director of Sonoma County Farm Bureau that “Mitch was an icon in the history of Sonoma County agriculture.

For four decades, Mitchel continued to run a volunteer fire department that his father had established. He spent his early school years at a one-room schoolhouse where he met the girl who would become his wife, Nilda Ricci. The couple married in 1950, and they lived on the family ranch where Mitchel continued farming and tending to his land.

Michael
Mulas Sr.

A Sonoma native who has had the privilege of walking in the footsteps of the two men who influenced his life the most: his father and grandfather. Like them, he grew up working on the family ranch, learning early on the values of hard work, integrity, and stewardship. He also followed their path into public service, becoming assistant chief of the very same fire department his grandfather founded.

Carrying forward their legacy has been one of his greatest honors but starting a new chapter with the next generation is a privilege. Together, they’ve launched this wine label as a way to honor their roots while creating something new.

This label is more than a business, it’s a symbol of continuity, evolution, and shared passion across generations. There is overwhelming pride in building this next chapter with Michael, just as his father and grandfather did for him.

Michael
Mulas Jr.

Growing up, there was an instinct to form part of the family legacy. While the roots ran deep in dairy farming, Michael found himself drawn to a different part of the land - the vineyard. There was something about the seasons of the vines and the quiet transformation that took place in the field that intrigued him.

That passion led him to UC Davis where he studied Viticulture and Enology. This gave him the foundation to understand what it takes to grow exceptional grapes and craft meaningful wines. Today, he has the privilege of overseeing the care and maintenance of the very vineyards that inspired this journey.

Today, it’s the two younger generations – a father and son – who carry that legacy forward. This label represents more than just wine. It’s the expression of a multi-generational story, a tribute to those who came before, and a promise to those who come next.

With reverence for the past and a vision for the future, they’ve poured their passion and purpose into creating this wine label. It’s more than a business venture – it’s the culmination of generations of hard work, sacrifice, and an unbreakable bond with the land.

Together they are proud to bring you FOURM. A Family’s Legacy Bottled. A Story Continued.
